Huddersfield Giants remain  just a point behind Super League XVIII leaders Wigan after  a 2216 triumph at Hull FC which was full of grit and determination.

This was a contest that could have gone either way, with the Giants only securing victory with a 75th-minute try and conversion from skipper Danny Brough.

And that was achieved after they had lost fellow playmaker Luke Robinson, who left wine field injured after a controversial challenge in the build-up to Hull's try that had levelled the or at 16-16 after 60minures.

The Giants held a slender 12-10 lead at the break after tries from Joe Wardle and Ukuma Ta'ai and a Brough goal.

They scored after the break through Brough and Jermaina McGillvary, although scores from Chris Green, Kirk Yeaman and Mark O,Meley and goals from Joe Westerman and Danny Tickle meant Hull were always in with a shout
