HULL KR head coach Justin Morgan said his side had produced a “poor display all round.”

Morgan added: “I think that was a disappointing display. We did not start well and did not get any better. In fact, we got progressively worse as the game went on.

“We didn’t show any patience with the amount of possession we had at times and we pushed the pass and that cost us.

“We couldn’t defend our areas at times either.”

Morgan refused to blame heavy conditions and said the Giants had just played better.

“I will have to delve very deeply to find any positives to take from this. We were way off with our attack and our defence was very scratchy.”

New boy Joel Clinton was introduced to fans at half-time but Morgan would not be drawn on when the Australian would make his Rovers debut.

“I need to digest what happened first,” he said. “We have to take our hats off to Huddersfield. They played the better game. It was very frustrating not being able to turn our pressure into points. That’s what we practice.”
