BIG Eorl Crabtree is looking for some powerful performances for England to set him up for a successful 2007 with the Giants.

The 24-year-old prop, pictured, produced a quality display as England beat France 26-10 in the Federation Shield yesterday.

The French struggled to handle the Giants man from start to finish.

And Crabtree hopes it continues against Samoa and Tonga in the other Shield games ahead.

"It's really important I play well in this competition, because I want to take as much confidence as possible into pre-season training with the Giants," admitted Crabtree.

"I want to try and do things a bit different in the build-up to the next Super League season.

"My training routine is going to alter and I'm looking at my diet.

"The ultimate aim is obviously to give me that little extra edge so I can continue to progress.

"And I know that process will help if I play well for England.

"I thought I played well against the French. I certainly enjoyed it.

"But I want to build on that in the games against Tonga and Samoa and then, hopefully, in the Shield final itself.

"As far as I'm concerned, these games are massive for me."
