ALBERT TORRENS is backing the Giants for Super League play-off glory!

The strike centre was last week ruled out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury at Castleford Tigers.

And the 29-year-old (right) admits the injury is a massive blow, particularly as he believes the Giants have what it takes to make the top six.

"It would have been great to have kept fully fit and helped the boys get into the play-offs," said Torrens.

"It's something I know we can do, and even though I won't be playing I still intend sticking around for a while to support the boys.

"They have been fanastic to me in helping lift my spirits at such a low time.

"It's been the same with the fans, who have been sending me messages of support, and I can't thank them enough.

"To hear them calling my name at The Shay meant a tremendous amount to me.

"And given the strength of this squad, I know they will have a lot more good things to shout about between now and the end of the season."
