TOUGH prop Keith Mason is ready to put a friendship aside to help continue the Giants' push up the Super League ladder.

Huddersfield entertain Harlequins at the Galpharm on Sunday (3.00) looking to make it three top-flight triumphs on the trot.

Mason knows it's going to be tough, particularly with former Melbourne Storm teammate Scott Hill pulling the strings at stand-off.

And he knows that by stopping ex-Australian Test ace Hill, the Giants can stop the Harlequins.

"Scott's a tremendous player and is really making the Quins tick," said Mason.

"But I'm not surprised. Having played with him at Melbourne I know just how dangerous and influential he can be.

"He's their dangerman, and if I can get the chance to stop him, I will."

Mason has been in top form all year, and did an excellent job in keeping Great Britain prop Stuart Fielden quiet when the Giants beat Wigan 41-16 at the Galpharm on Sunday.

And he knows a repeat performance this weekend will put his side in the ideal position to continue their climb away from the foot of the table.

"It was a fantastic team effort against Wigan, and that's put us in excellent mood ahead of this Sunday," he added.
