GIANTS duo Steve Snitch and Shane Elford are pushing for a return to Super League action.

Both men are now back in training for Sunday’s Sky TV clash against Wakefield at the Galpharm (4.00).

Snitch, right, has been sidelined for a month with a knee injury, while Elford suffered a hamstring strain in the victory over Bradford Bulls two weeks ago.

They will undergo fitness tests at the end of the week before a final decision is taken.

But with top prop Keith Mason back from suspension, Giants coach Jon Sharp is braced for a major selection headache.

“Everyone knows how delighted I was with the way the side played to beat Warrington last Friday,” said Sharp.

“And with all 17 players available for selection this weekend, I do have the option of keeping an unchanged team.

“But I‘ve already got Keith definitely back from his ban, while Steve and Shane are getting very close to returns after injury.

“If they can both prove their fitness to me as the week goes on, they will obviously be in contention. That’s going to make selection very tough.”

Before then, it’s a busy night for the club on the Academy front tonight, with the Juniors entertaining Wakefield at the DRAM Centre (6.00) and the Seniors at Bradford Bulls (7.30).
