Jared Simspon is set for a return to Huddersfield Giants Super League action after being named in the 19-man squad for Sunday’s home clash against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

With Scott Grix missing out, the 19-year-old seems certain to feature at full-back and could be joined in the side by fit-again back-row forward Chris Bailey, who hasn’t played since suffering a torn bicep in the home win over Catalans Dragons in April.

And Oliver Roberts is in contention to take over from fellow back-rower Brett Ferres, who has also suffered a torn bicep in Saturday’s victory over the Dragons.

Roberts has been recalled from his dual-registration spell at Oldham to ensure he’ll be available for the Super 8s. Any Super League player who plays on loan for a Championship club this weekend will be ineligible for the play-offs.

Hooker Kyle Wood (broken foot) was also injured in France, with Kruise Leeming ready to take over.

Giants: McGillvary, Cudjoe, Murphy, Brough, Robinson, Crabtree, Huby, Hughes, Bailey, Lawrence, Kopczak, Ta’ai, Broughton, Ellis, Leeming, Mason, Roberts, Simpson, Smith.
