STUART JONES is back in a Giants’ 18-man squad.
The second-rower missed out against Leeds last week when Michael Lawrence was back-up to the final 17.
But Lawrence and Leroy Cudjoe have been withdrawn from Jon Sharp’s initial 20-man squad, with Jones having now proved his fitness following a hamstring injury.
It means the Giants could make two changes from the side beaten 30-10 by champions Leeds six days ago, with Jones and prop Paul Jackson standing by to make their first Super League XIII starts.
Matt Cook and Tame Tupou are the man to lose out in the Bulls’ 18-man squad, with coach Steve McNamara confident his team will bounce back from their surprise 26-24 opening-day defeat at Wakefield.
“We have a very strong squad and we’ll get Chris Feather available next week and Semi Tadulala the week after and probably David Solomona the week after that,” said McNamara.
“Those players who play today know they need to perform to keep their places. I’m sure they will.”
