NEW boy Stuart Jones is tipping the Giants to go from strength to strength in Super League IX.

The powerful St Helens back-rower, who has moved to the McAlpine on a season's loan, is looking to make a big impact from the bench in tomorrow's home clash against Castleford Tigers (3.00).

And the 22-year-old is convinced that with the quality of the players around him, he can have a good year.

"When Huddersfield made it clear they wanted me, I had no hesitation in joining," said Jones, who arrived via the Giants Squadbuilder Fund.

"Last season, I was in the St Helens side that was beaten by the Giants at the McAlpine.

"And I was also in the side that was lucky enough to beat them in the return fixture at Knowsley Road.

"Huddersfield were a team that didn't get the credit they deserved. They have quality players throughout the side and the pack certainly don't take any prisoners.

"There's definitely no reason why they can't do even better this year, particularly with Jon Sharp in charge.

"One of the reasons I came here was to work under him again.

"I learned an amazing amount off Sharpy during my time at Saints, and I know I'll learn even more off him.

"In the pre-season game against Castleford I felt my game had improved. I hope it's the same tomorrow."
