HUDDERSFIELD Giants will be without their first-choice second-row partnership for the foreseeable future.

Just a day after skipper Kevin Brown was ruled out for at least a month with a knee injury, head coach Nathan Brown has confirmed Luke O’Donnell and David Fa’alogo have also been forced onto the sidelines.

Fa’alogo is struggling with a back injury and is being monitored on a week-by-week basis, while it’s a similar story with O’Donnell.

Galpharm chief Brown is still keeping the exact nature of the Australian Test star’s injury under wraps.

But he’s made it clear there’s no way O’Donnell or Fa’alogo could even be considered as an outside bet for Sunday’s big Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final clash at Castleford Tigers (3.30).

“There’s definitely no way either of them could have been considered this weekend, and I don’t know about next week either at this stage,” revealed Brown.

“All we can say about Luke is that he does have a problem, and we’re keeping it at that.

“When it comes to Doof (Fa’alogo), he’s got a back problem, which is causing him hamstring trouble.

“He’ll be seeing a specialist to get it checked out, but we are hopeful of having him available for the last few games.”
