IN-FORM Sean Penkywicz believes tonight's home Super League clash against Widnes Vikings (8.00) is the chance for the Giants to put the record straight!

The 23-year-old has been one of the top Huddersfield performers as his side have suffered three defeats on the trot to top-flight `big guns' Leeds, St Helens and Hull.

Their latest loss was the 54-10 defeat by world champions Leeds at the Galpharm on Sunday.

But the livewire Penkywicz, who has played at scrum half and hooker this season, believes the nature of that reverse could give the side added steel for tonight's battle against the Vikings on home soil.

"We were all gutted over the way we played against Leeds, and we're in no mood for a repeat," he declared.

"Until that match, we'd been pretty happy with the form we'd been showing and felt confident we could give them a real game.

"But while Leeds were on fire, our performance fell well below the standard that's acceptable, and the outcome was inevitable.

"As a group we're determined to sort that out quickly and that's what we're aiming to do tonight.

"We want to show everyone that what they saw last week wasn't the real Huddersfield Giants.

"We've now drawn a line under the Leeds game and are looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

"We're all enjoying the work we're doing off the field and the aim is to transfer it onto the field."

Missing from the side tonight is utility back Stuart Donlan who has failed to shake off a slight groin strain and the Giants have decided the best course of action is to give him a week's rest.

That's now an easier option as England full-back Paul Reilly is fit to return after finally recovering from a calf injury.

He is back in the squad after missing the last two matches.

Also returning is front-rower Paul Jackson who has recovered from tonsillitis and takes over from the injured Jim Gannon (hamstring).

After tonight's match, attentions will turn to Monday's Powergen Challenge Cup fourth-round draw at the Galpharm (6.45pm) with the Giants joining other Super League clubs in the hat.
