Fired-up Luke Robinson is calling for the Huddersfield Giants to hit their top form against Wakefield tomorrow and take some serious momentum into the Super 8s.

Huddersfield will be guaranteed fourth spot at the end of the regular Super League season with a home win against the bottom-of-the-table Wildcats (3.00).

And vastly-experienced hooker Robinson expects the Giants to show their opponents no mercy.

“We want to be at our very best tomorrow,” said Robinson. “Obviously, we need to win the game to guarantee us fourth place and an extra home match in the play-offs.

“But we also know this is the time when you need to be finding your best form, so we’re looking for a massive team performance this weekend to give us some real confidence and momentum ahead of the play-off series.

“We’ve already got the best defence in the competition and there’s a feeling throughout the squad that our attack is now starting to click into gear.

“That part of our game has taken a bit of time to get going.

“But it looks as if it could be coming together at just the right time.

“We need to prove that to ourselves with a top all-round performance tomorrow, and there’s definitely no reason why we shouldn’t.”

The Giants will make at least three changes to the side that won 14-12 at Catalans Dragons a week ago.

Missing from last week’s side are Brett Ferres (torn bicep), Kyle Wood (broken ankle) and Scott Grix, whose full-back spot is set to go to Jared Simpson.

Simpson is one of four new names added to the 19-man squad, with back-row forwards Chris Bailey and Oliver Roberts and hooker Kruise Leeming the others.

Roberts has been recalled from his dual-registration spell at Oldham to ensure he’ll be available for the Super 8s. Any Super League player who plays on loan for a Championship club this weekend will be ineligible for the play-offs.
