MAIN club sponsor Q-Connect are offering fans free travel to the Giants’ Super League XVIII opener at St Helens on Saturday, February 2.

The move has been made in a bid to boost the claret and gold backing for a clash to be screened live on Sky TV.

The fact the game is on television could have reduced the amount of travelling fans.

But the club’s main backers have come up with the plan to make sure head coach Paul Anderson and his players have as much support as possible on the night.

To qualify for the free coach travel, supporters must buy a match ticket from the John Smith’s Stadium ticket office. Match tickets are on sale now and supporters buying through the Giants’ ticket office earn 10% commission for the club.

And the sponsors’ marketing manager Stuart Bleese is hoping the offer can make a massive difference.

“We’re delighted to celebrate the launch of the 2013 partnership with this supporter deal,” he said.

“We wanted to launch a new offer following the success of our initial free shirt printing package at the launch of the new home shirt.

“Hopefully, as many supporters as possible will take advantage of the free coach travel and support Paul Anderson and the team for what is a mouth-watering opening fixture.”

Giants commercial manager Paul Cribb added: “We have wonderful support from the sponsors, and to offer yet another incentive is a great gesture and emphasises the brilliant work they do for the Giants and our tremendous supporters.

“As it’s the first game of the new season, Q-Connect have given fans a perfect opportunity to support their stars.”
