INJURED Paul March believes the Giants can go on and enjoy major Super League and Challenge Cup success in his absence.

The 26-year-old utility star is braced for eight long months on the sidelines after suffering a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee against Catalans Dragons 10 days ago.

He will undergo a major knee reconstruction on July 10 and then faces at least six months rehabilitation.

The in-form March admits the injury has hit him hard.

But he is sure his teammates will be able to keep a smile on his face by producing top-quality shows - starting at Bradford Bulls on Friday.

"Being out with an injury like this really hit me at Castleford on Sunday," he said.

"It was when the boys were warming up that it dawned on me what I would be missing.

"And I obviously felt even worse when I saw the boys struggling!

"But I know that wasn't the real Giants we saw out there.

"We were really knocked around with injuries in the build-up to that game, and it took its toll.

"I'm sure it'll be a different story when we play Bradford.

"As far as I'm concerned, Castleford was a blip.

"I know we still have the quality to go on and make the play-offs and reach the Challenge Cup final. I'm just gutted I won't be on the field to see that happen."

The Giants have named the same 20-man squad for a second week, with Michael De Vere (quad) and Martin Aspinwall ( ribs) again facing late fitness tests.
