SCOTTISH international Iain Morrison is set to make his first competitive start of the season tonight when the Giants take on Wigan in their re-arranged Senior Academy clash at Lockwood Park tonight (7.30).

The Super League squad man, who began to establish himself in the senior side in the second half of last season, has missed the start of the 2004 campaign with a leg injury.

But intensive treatment has now reaped its reward and the 20-year-old former London Broncos second-rower is ready to resume his promising career.

Morrison's return is another big boost for head coach Jon Sharp, who will again be checking on the match fitness of fellow senior squad man Jonathan Grayshon, who is on the Super League comeback trail after breaking a leg at Bradford Bulls last August.

Both players are already setting their sights on getting back into the Super League frame as quickly as possible.

And Sharp is only too pleased to see how they are progressing.

"There's nothing better than having competition for places in the squad, and that's what we're now getting," said Sharp.

"Jon and Iain have both missed out on our excellent start to the campaign and will now be looking to make up for lost time."
