GIANTS coach Nathan Brown is hoping that last night’s 20-6 home defeat by Super League champions Wigan will prove a valuable lesson for his side.

Huddersfield lost top spot to the in-form Warriors, whose magnificent defensive display won the day.

However, at the same time Brown was disappointed with his side’s failure to take several chances in attack and he hoped this will not prove a problem further down the track.

“We did enough to beat plenty of teams in the competition, but not a side like Wigan,” said Brown.

“Their defensive effort at times was tremendous, although that is what we expected from a quality team.

“But we created several chances and against the top sides you have to make sure that you take those opportunities because you know that you will not many.

“Unfortunately we didn’t on the night and I just hope we will learn from this game.”

Brown was delighted with the way fit again Luke Robinson returned after shoulder and elbow surgery.

“Robbo was great for us and immediately showed what an important player he is for the side, and in the weeks ahead he will help us go forward,” said Brown.
