GIANTS chief Nathan Brown is hoping the Magic Weekend will help bring the best out of his side.

Huddersfield head to Edinburgh to face Super League strugglers Celtic Crusaders at Murrayfield on Sunday (12.30) on the back of two disappointing defeats.

Those losses to Leeds and Warrington mean the Giants have slipped from second to fourth.

But Brown is hoping playing on the bigger stage will help inspire his players to produce the sort of team performance that brought such rich rewards in the opening rounds of this year’s competition.

And the Australian also says he’s a fan of the one-off weekend when all seven Super League fixtures are staged at a major venue.

“I think the Magic Weekend is a great concept and something they should think about introducing back home in Australia,” said former St George coach Brown.

“It’s fantastic for the fans to see seven games of Super League over one weekend and it’s also a great family event. It’s obviously very exciting for the supporters, but it is also something for the players to look forward to.

“This is the chance for them to play at a magnificent venue and be part of a very special occasion, and it goes without saying I hope this brings the very best out of us.

“This could be just the type of fixture we need to help us rediscover the form we had been showing up until the games against Leeds and Warrington.

“We need to get back to working hard for each other and for everyone to make a positive contribution, and playing at somewhere like Murrayfield could prove to be the inspiration.”
