GIANTS chairman Ken Davy and head coach Jon Sharp have become the first two to enrol in the exciting new Giants Express scheme.

The exciting new venture was revealed to 500 invited guests at the Galpharm last night.

The Express aims to attract an exclusive club of just 1,000 members when it is officially launched on April 10, with the hope of raising £1m for the Super League club over the next 10 years.

And on the night, over 200 of the 500 invited guests immediately pledged their support to the Giants Express.

For £2 a week, members who sign up will receive numerous benefits, which include the chance to win nearly £100,000 over the course of a year.

There will also be a 5% discount off their 2007 season ticket, the chance to win seats in the directors' box at every home game, exclusive offers at Stadium Golf and many more.

Details of the new Giants Express were revealed by Mr Davy, who is convinced the scheme will prove a real winner.

"Huddersfield Giants have made excellent progress, both on and off the field, over recent years and we want that success to continue.

"The Giants Express will put the foundations in place to move the club forward and it will aid us in realising our dream of becoming a consistent top Super League club in English rugby league".

The Giants Express will be part of the `Claret and Gold Society' which supports grassroots rugby through the Giants, and the majority of the money raised will be spent safeguarding the club's future.

And head coach Sharp is convinced the scheme is a superb way of ensuring the club continues to produce the stars of the future.

"With the likes of big Eorl Crabtree, Tom Hemingway and Simon George all coming through the ranks here at the Giants, it's plain to see how important Academy rugby is," said Sharp.

"Financial backing from the Giants Express is sure to have a positive effect on the Academy and, who knows, it may even help us develop the next Eorl Crabtree".
