THREE new Giants players will make their full debuts from the start in tonight’s tough Super League XIV opener at Catalans Dragons (5.00).
Brett Hodgson, Scott Moore and Simon Finnigan have all been confirmed in the starting line-up as head coach Nathan Brown takes charge for the first time.
Apart from hooker David Faiumu, who is back in New Zealand due to a family bereavement, the Giants are at full strength, with Jamahl Lolesi and Leroy Cudjoe the two to miss out.
And Brown believes his men are ready to play.
“The boys trained really well yesterday and they are looking in good shape,” said Brown, who was speaking after a final squad session on the Dragons’ Stade Gilbert Brutus ground.
“We know we face a tough opening task, but everyone looks as if they are up for the challenge.
“Obviously we will know a lot more after tonight. But with the way all the boys have worked I’m feeling pretty confident.
“I know the fans are looking forward to seeing how our style of play has changed from last season, and I’m sure they will enjoy seeing the new signings given a run from the start.”
