GIANTS officials are looking for the fans to meet fire with fire when Wigan come to town tomorrow.
Yesterday's appointment of Great Britain boss Brian Noble as the Warriors' new head coach has led to an upsurge of interest at Super League's bottom club.
That's expected to be reflected in the level of support for Wigan at the Galpharm this weekend
And Giants marketing officer Jonathan Wilkinson is hoping the home fans can match the level of vocal support now guaranteed from the away end of the stadium.
"Things are really buzzing at Wigan right now," said Wilkinson, pictured below.
"The thought among the Wigan marketing staff at the start of the week was that up to 1,000 fans would be making the trip.
"But following the news that Brian is coming they expect it to be twice that.
"That will help generate a great atmosphere inside the stadium, and it will be fantastic to hear which set of fans will be the loudest.
"Let's hope it's ours, particularly as the match is being screened live on Sky TV.
"There really is something extra special about a Sky TV occasion, and I know the fans love to see the big screen.
"Kids, in particular, can't take their eyes off it in the build-up to a match when the screen shows shots of the crowd, and with all Under 11s getting in free we know there will be lots of youngsters there tomorrow night.
"Our link-up with Eureka! is proving a huge success and we're getting positive feedback about our pre-match programme.
"Tomorrow has all the makings of a brilliant evening."
