THE Robins enjoyed a tremendous campaign during 2009, eventually finishing fourth in the regular Super League table.

But a disappointing drop in form resulted in them losing their last three games of the season, including play-off defeats at Leeds and at home to Wigan.

Coach Justin Morgan will be intent on building on that during the coming year and another top-four finish will be the aim again this year.

They began that process with a comfortable 30-12 opening-day triumph at home to Salford, but last Friday they were brought back down to earth with a bump with a 32-6 defeat at resurgent Wigan Warriors.

Rovers will also be hoping for some long-overdue success on the Challenge Cup front, particularly after suffering the heartache of last season’s extra-time quarter-final defeat at the hands of eventual winners Warrington Wolves.

JUSTIN MORGAN is now firmly established as one of Hull KR’s most successful coaches, having reinvigorated the club since joining from French club Toulouse at the end of the 2005 season.

At the end of his first season, Rovers had lost just two of their 18 fixtures to top National League I and also enjoyed a fairytale run to the Challenge Cup semi-finals. They then kept their nerve to beat Widnes in the Championship Grand Final to earn Super League promotion.

WITH over 250 first-grade games to his name, Paul Cooke is not only one of the most experienced members of the Hull KR squad, but one of the most battle-hardened players in Super League.

A Challenge Cup winner and member of the 2005 Super League Dream Team during his time at Hull FC, the 28-year-old has been long established at the top level.

Hungry for silverware with his hometown club, Cooke will be eager to bring his best game to the table in 2010, whether that’s in the position of stand-off or loose-forward.

As well as being one of Rovers’ main attacking weapons, striking up a highly-effective half-back partnership with Michael Dobson, Cooke is also one of the most consistent goalkickers in the competition.
