PAUL ANDERSON is confident Scott Grix and Tommy Lee will guide the Giants to another Super League victory – if inspirational half-back Danny Brough is forced to spend another week on the sidelines.

Huddersfield boss Anderson has admitted Brough remains a doubt for Sunday’s home clash against Bradford Bulls as he struggles to recover from a dead leg.

The injury forced Brough to sit out last Friday’s game at Salford City Reds.

But with makeshift half-back pairing Grix and Lee having helped guide the Giants to a 30-20 triumph, Anderson would be more than happy for them to carry on against the Bulls.

“Obviously, we’d like to have Broughy back out there,” said Anderson.

“Unfortunately, his injury has turned out to be a bit more significant than we had first hoped.

“Broughy does heal pretty quickly, but at the moment it is touch and go for Sunday.

“We’re just fortunate that if he’s not right we can leave Tommy and Grixy in there.

“They both did well at Salford the other night, so we’d have no hesitation in keeping them there this weekend.”

As well as monitoring the fitness of Brough, the Giants are also keeping a close eye on Larne Patrick.

The explosive forward has missed the wins over Catalan Dragons and Salford with a back spasm.

But having now returned to full training, the former Bradford man could be back this weekend.

“Larne looked okay, but the key now is how he reacts to the full session,” added Anderson.

“All being well, he’ll suffer no ill effects and he can come back into contention.

“And if that’s the case then we’ve got some tough choices to make on the selection front.

“Everyone who played at Salford should be available for the Bulls game, which means we’re not going to be short of options.”
