EVEN though the announcement that Nathan Brown will be head coach here next year was big news, it’s something we haven’t yet talked about in any detail as a group.
All the players were told about it on Friday morning just before we were having our final run-through ahead of the Warrington game.
That’s one of the most important training sessions of the week, so all the focus was obviously on that rather than the news about Nathan.
But I’m sure it must have been at the back of the players’ minds.
They now know there’s a coach over in Australia who will be watching them very closely between now and the end of the season, and this is obviously the time for them to create a good early impression.
I’ve already spoken to Nathan a couple of times, and it’s clear he’s going to be keeping a close check on what’s going on.
