GIANTS chief Jon Sharp is urging as many fans as possible to make the trip to Leeds Rhinos tonight (8.00) and give Paul Reilly the support he deserves.

Reilly will lead out his hometown club alongside Leeds' Huddersfield-born Great Britain centre Keith Senior in an eagerly-awaited joint testimonial for the highly-respected duo.

Sharp is the first to admit the clash is a vital part of pre-season plans ahead of the Super League XII opener against St Helens at the Galpharm a week on Sunday.

But he also knows how a big Headingley crowd will be to help boost Reilly's benefit fund.

"This match is a reward for Paul's commitment and dedication to the Giants, and I hope the fans turn out in force to recognise that fact," said Sharp, who is taking a 20-man squad to Leeds.

"I'm certainly keeping fingers crossed there's a good turn-out so Paul can earn a couple of quid. He certainly deserves it.

"Everyone knows what a fine servant he has been, not only to Huddersfield, but to the game.

"And, as his coach, I know how valuable he is to the Giants.

"His commitment, character and spirit is an inspiration to his teammates, and I still regard him as one of the best kick-return full-backs in the game.

"Paul will call it a day at the end of the season because his body has been falling to bits for several years now. At least the fans have the chance to reward him for these sacrifices tonight."

Sharp wants another top show.

"Although I was pleased with a lot of what we did against Wigan, we know we can do better," he added. "Hopefully, we can build on that performance tonight and be in even better shape."
