FIT-AGAIN Giants star Paul Whatuira returns to action at home to St Helens tomorrow determined to carry on from where he left off three weeks ago.

While head coach Nathan Brown will wait until after today’s final run-through to decide what role new scrum-half signing Danny Brough will play, Whatuira has already been confirmed in the line-up.

It will be the 28-year-old’s first appearance since he suffered a hamstring injury in the closing stages of Huddersfield’s stunning 52-0 Super League win at Wakefield.

Whatuira was man-of-the-match that night, and he is hoping he can maintain that form against last season’s Super League Grand Finalists.

“I was delighted with the way I played at Wakefield, I felt I was getting back to my best,” said the strike centre, who missed the wins against champions Leeds and Harlequins.

“So to miss out on playing against Leeds the other week, in particular, was really frustrating.

“I could probably have played at Quins last Saturday, but the decision was taken not to risk me and make sure I would be okay for the Saints game.

“Hopefully, that means I’ll be fit and fresh and ready to back up my performance at Wakefield with something similar against Saints.

“We know we’re all going to have to play well, because this game is going to be tough.”
