BIG Eorl Crabtree intends to lead from the front as the Giants look to complete their home Super League campaign in style.

Huddersfield host in-form St Helens at the Galpharm on Sunday (3.00) desperate to give the fans something to cheer.

Crabtree admits his side are still smarting from last week’s narrow 22-20 home defeat to Catalans Dragons when over 12,000 fans took advantage of free admission on the night.

And the 25-year-old feels the Giants owe the fans a big performance this weekend to make up for the bitter disappointment of six days ago.

“That defeat last weekend really hit us hard,” admitted Crabtree. “The fans turned out in big numbers, despite the awful conditions, and we failed to deliver the sort of performance they deserved.

“The way they got behind us was fantastic, and it’s not often you hear our fans shouting louder than the opposition!

“I’d love to think this is a taste of things to come, and it would be great to see many of them back again against Saints on Sunday.

“If they do, I just hope we can put on a better show. I know I want to.

“Although I didn’t enjoy the defeat, I enjoyed starting a game and playing about 60 minutes at prop.

“I feel prop is my rightful position – not loose-forward or second row – and I’m determined to put in another big display in the front row to show that’s where I belong.”
