DEJECTED Giants man-of-the-match Sean Penkywicz has described his side's performance against Wakefield as "shocking".

The 22-year-old hooker tried his heart out in a bid to get Huddersfield out of second gear and to get to grips with the in-form Wildcats.

Besides scoring his side's only try of the game and continuing to probe for the half gaps, Penkywicz topped his side's tackle count with 37 - all factors which earned him the Giants' individual prize.

But he admitted that was of no consolation whatsoever.

"The only way I can describe the way we played is `shocking'. It was a total off day for everyone", he admitted.

"As everyone can imagine, the dressing room after the match wasn't a very happy place to be. We were all bitterly disappointed with the way it went.

"We really were at a loss to know why things went as badly as they did.

"That's obviously something which will be addressed at the start of the week, and I'm sure Jon Sharp will put it right.

"Hopefully, everything will be back on track when we go to Salford next Sunday."
