HAULAGE firm The Pink Link have put their name to a Galpharm Stadium stand.

Now they want the clubs who play there, Town and the Giants, to be reflected in the names of two new vehicles.

Netherton-based The Pink Link Ltd is a nationwide palletised distribution company which has an eye-catching fleet of vehicles which have become a familiar sight around the country.

They offer a unique range of services from delivery to storage, and are one of the most recognised brands in the area due to their distinctive fleet livery.

Having recently signed a five-year deal to sponsor the Stadium's South Stand, The Pink Link have teamed up with the Examiner to offer readers the chance to name the vehicles - and get the chance to watch their team play from the directors' box.

A separate competition is being run for each vehicle, one for Town and one for the Giants, with the winner of each receiving two directors' box tickets for a forthcoming match.

That also brings the chance to meet the management and players of that team.

Town's name has been on a railway locomotive and a cargo ship, but neither club have been honoured by the title of a road vehicle.

That will now change, and fans are simply asked to come up with a name which reflects the spirit of their club.

It simply has to relate to Town or the Giants, perhaps a past or present player or a historical reference.

Entries must be received by Thursday week, March 30.

The Pink Link will then meet Town manager Peter Jackson and Giants coach Jon Sharp and announce three choices for each vehicle. These will be announced on Saturday, April 1, when Town host Barnsley.

Examiner readers will then have 10 days to vote for their favourite name in each case (via the paper or the two club websites).

The winners will be drawn from all those who have suggested the two successful names.
