THE calls have been growing for Giants full-back Paul Reilly to join the Great Britain Gillette Tri-Nations squad.

The 28-year-old is still basking in the glory of his man-of-the-match display for England in the 26-12 triumph over Ireland in Sunday's European Nations Cup final.

Lions coach Brian Noble was at Warrington to watch Reilly in action and has admitted he is looking to draft at least one of the England squad into the Great Britain set-up as they prepare for Saturday's showdown with Australia at the JJB Stadium.

With several Lions players still struck down with a virus - Giants head coach and GB assistant Jon Sharp has been added to that list - Noble could be struggling for numbers.

It has been revealed that Reilly was in the initial 40-man Great Britain squad that Noble was keen to keep under wraps, and he was training with the Lions at the end of the Super League season.

And Giants officials are keeping their fingers crossed that Reilly receives the Great Britain call.

"We all saw the way Paul played for England against Ireland at the weekend," said Giants football manager Stuart Sheard.

"His man-of-the-match award was thoroughly deserved and that has to make him a candidate for a Great Britain call.

"It was something England coach Karl Harrison certainly didn't dismiss.

"But whether Paul gets in to the squad or not, it's still fantastic that a Giants player is in the reckoning."
