LEEDS RHINOS centre Keith Senior is braced for a big Super League meeting with referee Richard Silverwood – just two weeks after labelling the Dewsbury official ‘arrogant’.

Silverwood has been appointed the referee for Sunday’s massive top-flight clash between Huddersfield and the Super League champions at the Galpharm Stadium.

That will be 14 days since Silverwood took charge of the Rhinos’ World Club Challenge clash against Australian champions Melbourne Storm, which the visitors won 18-10.

The way the contest was refereed at Elland Road that night prompted the 33-year-old’s outburst, and even though Senior issued a public apology almost immediately, he still faces a meeting at RFL headquarters at Red Hall tonight to explain his comments.

Whatever the outcome of that hearing, the Huddersfield-born Senior’s feelings have created even more interest in a fixture that was already capturing the imagination.

Silverwood took charge of the same fixture last season, which was won by the Rhinos, but he was also the man in the middle when Huddersfield shocked Leeds to win a memorable Challenge Cup semi final at Odsal in 2006.
