PAUL ANDERSON believes the Giants are ready to make the most of their winning combinations.

With inspirational scrum half Danny Brough, pictured, having recovered from a side strain which kept him out of the defeat at Salford, the Huddersfield assistant coach has confirmed all of the Giants’ key pivotal players will take to the field for Sunday’s home Super League XVI clash against Harlequins.

It’s the first time in months that’s been the case for the fourth-placed Giants, with injuries having taken their toll, but with Brough and Kevin Brown ready to resume at half-back, a fully-fit Luke Robinson set to start at hooker and Scott Grix having shaken off a couple of niggles to continue at full-back, Huddersfield won’t be short of attacking options against the Quins.

And with the way the Giants have been shaping up in training, Anderson is sure that will be reflected in a far more accomplished team display.

“The break has really refreshed the boys and helped them focus fully on what we’ve got to do,” said Anderson. “Hopefully, this will become apparent in our next few performances.

“With so many players having returned from injury, we’ve been able to train with the right combinations rather than having to move people around to have a team out there.

“In training this week we’ve been able to work with Broughy, Kev and Robbo alternating at half-back and Grixy looking sharp at full-back. On top of that, Shaun Lunt could also be in the mix after groin surgery. But what’s also helped is that the quality of the training sessions has improved.

“With having extra bodies, we’re now managing to see opposed sessions once again, and these are the sessions the boys enjoy the most.

“You’d always prefer to train with players in front of you rather than no-one at all, you can work on more.

“The acid test obviously comes when we get back out on the field against Quins this weekend, but all the signs are very positive.”
