HUDDERSFIELD Giants have continued their trend of signing top junior talents by securing the signature of highly-rated Sam Fletcher.
The 16-year-old has signed professional forms on a three-year deal and is regarded as one of the hottest properties in the game.
Fletcher can play at centre or in the back-row and joins the Giants’ Academy set-up having previously been on the Leeds Rhinos Scholarship Scheme.
He is a former Hunslet Parkside player and has committed to the Giants’ causeway, despite interest from a host of top Super League clubs.
The talented teenager signed for the Giants at the same time he was picked to represent England against their French counterparts in a two-Test series in April.
And Giants player performance manager Pete Riding is understandably excited at having attracted the services of such a hot property.
“We are absolutely delighted to secure the signing of Sam,” said Riding.
“He has got fantastic potential and, to go with that, he has a great attitude.
“I’m sure with the support he will receive at the Giants he will get every opportunity to fulfil that potential.
“There’s no doubt Sam can go on and have a very bright future in the game.”
