SCOTT GRIX is confident he will have the bragging rights when he goes head-to-head with younger brother Simon for the very first time in a Super League game this weekend.

Although both men have played in the top-flight for several years, injuries have meant they have never competed against each.

But with new Giants signing Scott having been cleared to play despite suffering a finger injury during Sunday’s 30-0 victory at Hull KR, he is relishing the chance to lock horns against Warrington’s Simon in Sunday’s big Super League XV battle at the Galpharm Stadium.

“All being well, we’ll finally get to play against each other at last,” said Scott.

“Every time in the past when we’ve been due to play against each other, one of us has been injured, and it’s usually Simon.

“But I did fear earlier in the week it might be me when I picked up my finger injury.

“Fortunately, I’ve now been cleared to play and I’m ready to go.

“And I can’t wait to cross paths with him, which I’m sure we’ll do, because we’ve both been playing a bit of loose-forward and stand-off.

“With being the older brother, I’ve always had the bragging rights in the past, and I’m sure that will continue after Sunday.”
