TOUGH Giants coach Jon Sharp, pictured, is demanding one final push in his club's bid to make it a season to remember.

The Galpharm chief knows a victory at home to Wakefield on Sunday (3.00) and then another home success against Castleford a week later will put his side right back in the Super League play-off mix.

He also knows it will raise confidence ahead of their big Powergen Challenge Cup semi-final showdown against Leeds at the end of the month.

But Sharp is also aware that if his side fails to end a run of four defeats on the trot this weekend, the focus will turn to Super League survival rather than a glorious charge to the end of the season.

"We all hear the talk about being involved in a relegation battle, but everyone knows I believe we can make the six," he said.

"Almost every side has been through dips in form this season, and it's how you deal with them that's really important.

"If you deal with them well, you will re-discover that winning form and that's what we're striving to achieve this weekend.

"We have the ability in this side to finish the season well and I'm looking for the players to produce one big final push to make sure it's a year to remember.

"That process gets under way against Wakefield this weekend.

"Every game in Super League is important, but we all know that at this stage of the season they often gain in importance.

"We know how vital a win is right now to make sure our play-off hopes remain."

Huddersfield go into the contest two points ahead of Wakefield and one place above them in ninth.

That suggests the Giants will start the game as slight favourites, but Sharp takes nothing for granted.

"Wakefield may be below us, but they are a big threat," he added.

"We all know about David Solomona's qualities, but they're far from being a one-man team. They will be tough."
