EXCITED Giants coach Jon Sharp is hoping a return to `home' soil will inspire Great Britain to a must-win Gillette Tri-Nations triumph over New Zealand at the Galpharm Stadium tomorrow (6.15).

The Lions must beat the Kiwis if they are to keep alive their dream of facing Australia in the competition final at Leeds at the end of the month.

Great Britain have a good track record in Huddersfield and prepared for tomorrow's showdown with a stadium training session yesterday.

Giants chief Sharp played a key role in that workout in his capacity as Lions assistant coach and, despite several key players suffering with a virus, he reports the team are confident of success.

"The stadium session was excellent and everything is coming together well," said Sharp, who spent yesterday afternoon back in his Giants office dealing with domestic matters.

"It seemed strange coaching different players in familiar surroundings, but it went very well and the boys are confident of putting in a good performance in front of a big crowd."

Stadium officials remain confident of attracting another 20,000-plus crowd, with ticket sales already heading that way.

Any that remain unsold will be on sale at the ground up to kick-off.
