EXCITED Huddersfield Giants coach Jon Sharp is already relishing the prospect of entertaining Warrington Wolves in his side's opening home engage Super League XI fixture.
Although all of Sharp's pre-season work will be geared towards his club's opening game at Leeds Rhinos on Sunday, February 12 (3.00), he admits the clash with the Wolves a week later has captured his imagination.
Over the years, battles between the Giants and the Wolves have been some of the best.
And with several players ready to make their home debuts that day, including major signing Robbie Paul, Sharp believes it will be an extra special Galpharm occasion.
"The first home game of the season is always special, and this will certainly be no exception." said Sharp, pictured.
"We know we face a very tough start to the season, with an opening game at Leeds setting the tone.
"But, overall, we're quite happy with the way all the fixtures have fallen, and we're definitely happy to open our home campaign against Warrington.
"We've had some great games against them over the years, and it will no doubt be the same again on February 19.
"I expect our fans will be out in force to give our new signings a very warm welcome, and I know the Warrington supporters will come in big numbers.
"The atmosphere inside the Galpharm that day should be electric, and I can't wait!"
