GIANTS coach Jon Sharp is refusing to get carried away after watching his side considerably strengthen their top-six play-off hopes over the weekend.

The sixth-placed Giants are now three points clear of the chasing pack in Super League and have a game in hand.

While Huddersfield were securing a 35-22 win with a late surge against London Broncos at the McAlpine yesterday, play-offs rivals Warrington (at St Helens on Saturday) and Wakefield (at Wigan on Friday) both suffered defeats.

But Sharp has warned his players not to be distracted with thoughts of potential play-off glory and instead focus solely on Sunday's tough trip to Hull.

"Being up their in the top six is a nice position to be in, of course," said Sharp.

"But the old cliche of taking one game at a time remains, and it's served us well so far.

"The way we had to battle so hard against London shows we can't afford to look too far ahead. That's dangerous."
