STEPHEN WILD could be facing a spell on the Super League sidelines.

The Great Britain loose forward last night suffered a recurrence of an injury to his right knee as the Giants slumped to a heavy 52-18 defeat at champions Bradford Bulls.

Wild's injury summed up a night of frustration for Huddersfield, who must now re-group ahead of Saturday's home clash with bottom club Wigan Warriors (6.05).

And it's looking highly unlikely that former Wigan man Wild will be playing a part.

"We need a specialist to take a look at Stephen now," confirmed Sharp.

"He's been carrying the injury for several weeks and just hasn't been able to shake it off, so we obviously need to get to the bottom of it.

"It again forced his early retirement from last night's match, and we're obviously hoping we can get it sorted out as quickly as possible.

"He was in outstanding form at the start of the season, and with the right treatment we hope it won't be long before he's back to his best.

"The fact Stephen had to be carried off summed up what was a very disappointing night for us at Bradford last night."
