Although the Bulls boss believes it’s how both the Giants and Hull have played as a team that has been their recipe for Super League success, he knows individual player duels could be crucial.

And he feels three encounters – in the back-row, at hooker and half-back – could prove decisive.

STEPHEN WILD v WILLIE MANU

BOTH players have been outstanding for their teams in the pack this season.

Obviously, Stephen Wild was named in the Super League Dream Team, and even though I’ve obviously not seen all his games this season, I’ve been highly impressed with those I have. He’s a superb all-round player.

He may be charged with the task of keeping his eye on Willie Manu, who has been a massive offensive weapon for Hull all year.

RYAN HUDSON v WAYNE GODWIN

THIS is a real mouth-watering clash between former teammates (at Castleford) and former friends.

Wayne was outstanding for Hull in their win against us at the KC Stadium a week ago (20-10).

If he plays as well tonight, the Giants could have a tough time.

But with Ryan being such a fierce competitor, I’m sure he’ll have something to say about that!

BRAD DREW v MATTHEW HEAD

THIS one is more about Brad.

Like many, I believe he’s been one of the most influential players for the Giants over the last few years.

And I’m sure that if he gets the better of his opposite number and is able to make a positive impression, the Giants have a great chance of winning.
