OFFICIALS of the newly-formed Huddersfield Giants Independent Supporters Association believe that a united fans' front could be crucial to the future success of the Super League club.

The organisation hold their next meeting at Fartown Supporters Club on Tuesday and are hoping everyone with the club at heart will attend.

The invitation comes via an open letter to the Examiner which states:

"The main aim of the association during uncertain times for all concerned with the club is to consolidate the renewed interest generated by recent improved team performances.

"We are of the opinion that a sound, united supporters' base is imperative for the long-term good of the club.

"We are certain it would provide additional credibility to the club's own franchise application, particularly when press reports abound regarding such issues as threats to the code from rugby union, salary cap problems, League structures and reorganisation of the League management structure.

These are, of course, just a few of the confusing anomalies being imposed on the game's long-suffering fans.

"We would like to bring together all groups of serious, keen and long-term `Fartown' fans, past and present, whose desire is to see the team return to the forefront of the game as soon as possible.

"In this way we feel constructive dialogue can hopefully be achieved with the club's adminstration team voicing the supporters' concerns and suggestions on a unified basis.

"Our next meeting is to be held at Fartown Supporters Club next Tuesday (August 14 at 7.45). They have most kindly offered use of their facilities once more, clearly indicating the very co-operation we wish to promote.

"Everyone who wishes to see the claret and gold challenging for major honours once again is invited to attend and will be most welcome.

"Tabling and discussing constructive queries and suggestions regarding the club's future can ultimately only assist reinstating supporters as a valued, important element in the team's overall structure.

"We hope enough people agree and we look forward to meeting you all on Tuesday."
