A TEAM of junior Russian rugby league players will be at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday to watch the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi final between St Helens and Bradford.
They are from the Energi club based in the Kazan region of the country and will also visit the RL Heritage Centre at the George Hotel.
Their tour starts with a match against St Cuthberts High School in St Helens tomorrow (5.30).
The Russians play New Spring Lions in Wigan on Monday before their final fixture against ST Cuthbert’s a week today.
They will also go to Sunday’s Challenge Cup semi-final between Wigan and Catalans at Warrington.
Commenting on the tour, the RFL's National Development Manager Andy Harland said: “This will be a tremendous cultural experience and a great opportunity for all the youngsters to experience different playing styles.”
