Huddersfield Giants go into their final Super 8s game of the season with the chance of claiming the title of table-toppers.

Their 34-20 victory at Hull FC, coupled with St Helens’ 18-14 win against Wigan, means the League Leaders Shield is still on offer with one point separating the semi-finalists.

But Giants head coach Paul Anderson is more focused on the major prize – the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 10.

“For everyone to be in the running to finish top in the leading four teams is great for the game,” said Anderson.

“But what we have to look at now is that we could have three Grand Finals left this season.

“We play Leeds next week with plenty at stake and then we will have another job to do in the semi-finals.

“Then, hopefully, it will be the Grand final – but we will have to be better.

“We won at Hull but our performance wasn’t good enough, and we were nowhere near where we should have been.”
