HUDDERSFIELD Giants' Junior Academy Championship challenge is back on track!
After a heavy defeat at Widnes, coach Andy Procter's side hit back to beat Warrington 24-18 at the DRAM Centre.
It was a win the home side thoroughly deserved, although they were forced to hang on as their visitors mounted a strong second-half fightback.
The Giants were in the driving seat as they led 16-8 at the interval.
Tries from Leroy Cudjoe, Shaun Garrod and Chris Lawson and two Chris Brooke goals gave Huddersfield the ideal start.
And with props Lawson and Luke Roberts making a massive impact up front and Sam Housley impressing from the bench, everything was going well.
But in the second half, the Wolves made a real fight of it and threatened to turn the game on its head.
Fortunately, Roberts was on hand to score a thoroughly deserved try and Brooke landed the conversion and a penalty to make the game safe.
Hopefully, the Under 18s will maintain the form when they entertain Castleford on Saturday (1.00) in DRAM Centre double-header, with the Senior Academy playing Harlkequins at 3.15.
