HUDDERSFIELD Giants are through to the Junior Academy First Division Grand Final.
The club's Under 18s side last night beat Widnes Vikings 38-30 at the Halton Stadium to reach the final on September 27 at a venue still to be decided.
The identity of their opponents is also still unknown, with Widnes having a second bite of the play-off cherry and taking on the winners of this weekend's Wakefield versus Warrington clash in a bid to earn a Grand Final showdown with the Giants.
Whoever they face, the Giants will be confident of picking up the silverware to round off a superb season.
Last night's win was the eighth on the trot under coaching duo Danny Russell and Mick Sykes, with Ben Feehan proving the star of the show.
The powerful former Newsome junior was the difference between the two sides, scorching over for four quality tries as Widnes found him almost impossible to handle.
His hat trick was completed in the opening half as the Giants built up a 30-16 lead.
Within four minutes the visitors had made their intentions clear, with Thomas Hemingway releasing Peter Robinson to score the opener.
Hemingway added the conversion and followed suit six minutes later after Feehan had opened his account.
Widnes hit back to draw level midway through the half, but Feehan crossed twice more and Philip Joseph raced over after good work from Hemingway and Marcus George to put the Giants back in command.
Feehan added his fourth within seven minutes of the restart to extend the advantage to 20 points.
And despite a late Vikings rally, the impressive Hemingway added his eighth goal of the game through a penalty to ease his side home.
