Paul Anderson will expect Tyler Dickinson to return to Huddersfield Giants pre-season training with an extra spring in his step.
The 18-year-old Super League squad prop was in the starting line-up as England Academy secured a superb 28-14 triumph over Australian Schoolboys in the second Test at Leigh Sports Village on Friday night.
The former Siddal junior was also in the first-choice front row for the narrow 22-18 defeat to the tourists in the Test opener at the same venue six days earlier, while Giants full-time Senior Academy back-rower Mikey Wood was on the bench in both games.
And with Dickinson having been promoted to Huddersfield’s Super League squad for 2015, head coach Anderson knows the experience of facing – and beating – Australia’s top young talent, will have done the development of his game a power of good.
“This experience won’t have done him any harm at all,” said Anderson.
“It’s great for Tyler, and it’s also great for the Giants to have a player involved in a Test triumph over Australia.
“We’re all now looking forward to welcoming him back into our full-time squad and seeing him build on what will have been a special time for him.”
