IN-FORM Giants captain Chris Thorman knows victory against Catalans Dragons at the Galpharm tomorrow (7.30) could spark a rapid rise up the Super League ladder.

A Huddersfield win over the French in front of the Sky TV cameras would take them above their visitors and into eighth spot in the table.

And Thorman believes that could act as a major source of motivation for what he know will be another hard-fought clash for his side.

“Games are getting tighter and tighter and you need to grasp on to everything you can to give you that extra edge,” said the 27-year-old skipper, pictured right.

“We know a win over Catalans will take us above them in the league table, and that’s a massive motivational factor.

“Everyone knows we want to reach the play-offs again this season, but we’re obviously not there on the league ladder right now.

“But if we can put in a quality display tomorrow and move above Catalans, then we should have the confidence to keep moving up.

“Our performance to beat Saints and then to get the draw at Hull KR show we’re not playing too badly.

“The aim now is to continue to build on that, starting with this game tomorrow.

“We had a good review after the Hull KR game and know exactly where we went wrong, and we’re looking forward to getting everything right this time.”
