HUDDERSFIELD Giants jet off to Portugal later this week, with coach Jon Sharp believing his pre-season plans are right on track.

Apart from new recruit Ryan Hudson, whose drugs ban ends on January 20, the full squad will be making the trip to the Brown's leisure complex on the Algarve.

It will be the Giants' third visit on the trot to the venue.

And Sharp knows the work done away will be vital as his club gears up for the start of Super League next month.

"Everyone knows how delighted I have been with the work the boys have already put in," said Sharp.

"But it's the work we'll be doing during our week in Portugal that could hold the key to the start to the season we make.

"This will be the chance to put in some quality work, hopefully in dry weather, before we get ready to face St Helens on February 4."

Meanwhile, the Giants are giving companies the chance to literally advertise to millions at a rock `bottom' price!

For the first time in the club's history, the Giants are inviting companies to bid for the advertising space that will be available on the Giants players' shorts for the televised game and Super League opener against St Helens on Sunday, February 4.

The company bidding the highest will have its logo emblazoned on the players' shorts for the game and will be seen by a massive audience, with the fixture being shown nationwide on Sky TV.

The club have already received interest from a number of companies, with the highest bid standing at a four-figure sum.

"Not only is this something new for the club, it also gives a local business an unrivalled chance to reach millions of potential customers via a different marketing channel," said Sean Jarvis, pictured left, the director of business development at the Galpharm Stadium.

"Having spoken to a number of businesses already, they have placed their bids and are keen to secure the sponsorship."
