FIRED-UP Hefin O'Hare is aiming to use his European Nations Cup campaign with Wales as the springboard for a successful Super League season with the Giants.
The Huddersfield winger will line up for the Welsh against Ireland in the opening Group One game in Port Talbot on Sunday.
The international showdown comes just two weeks after the 25-year-old secured a new deal with the Galpharm club.
The signing of a new one-year contract ended a period of uncertainty for O'Hare, who admitted he was frustrated at his lack of Super League starts in 2004.
And he is aiming to hit top form with Wales as he bids to earn back a place in the Giants' starting line-up in Super League X.
"I've made no secret of the fact I was frustrated at my lack of starts last season," said O'Hare.
"Jon Sharp made it clear why he used me the way he did, and I fully accept that.
"He also told me what it would take to earn back a starting spot, and that's what I intend to do.
"That process has now started, and some big games for Wales in the next few weeks won't do me any harm.
"What happened at the Giants has acted as a wake-up call for me, and it's increased my determination to succeed, first with Wales and then with the Giants."
