WARRINGTON Wolves are keeping news over the fitness of inspirational half-back Lee Briers close to their chests.

The 31-year-old suffered an ankle injury during his side’s narrow 22-20 defeat at the hands of Wigan Warriors at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday night.

That has made Briers a major injury doubt for his side’s trip to Huddersfield on Sunday.

But with Briers receiving intensive treatment in a bid to face the side Warrington beat in last season’s Challenge Cup final, the Wolves will leave it until the last minute before making a final decision.

The fact Sunday’s Super League XV clash is the first time the teams have met since last August’s Wembley Stadium showdown has increased interest in the fixture.

As a result, the Giants report tickets have been selling well, prompting them to extend their Galpharm Stadium ticket office opening hours tomorrow between 9am-8pm.

That move has also been taken because of a busy weekend ahead for the stadium.

With an early kick-off on Saturday for Town’s game against Leeds United, Giants fans have been urged to utilise the late opening on Friday to pre-purchase their tickets ahead of matchday.

Supporters purchasing ahead of the game can save at least £2 per ticket on gameday, while Giants season-ticket holders are reminded that they can utilise their ‘Bring a Buddy’ vouchers found in their booklets allowing entry for just £10.
