DARRELL GRIFFIN has finally been unveiled as Huddersfield Giants' fifth pre-season signing.
The 25-year-old former Wakefield prop has signed a three-year deal and arrives on the back of the earlier capture of Wests Tigers trio Shane Elford, Jamaal Lolesi and John Skandalis and former hooker Ryan Hudson.
Griffin, pictured here, will add even more size to the Giants pack, measuring 6ft 5in and weighing over 17st.
He has been linked with a move to the Galpharm for several months and was effectively frozen out at Belle Vue at the end of the season.
And that experience has made him even more determined to succeed at the Galpharm with Huddersfield.
"This is my big chance to really establish myself at Super League level," said the monster front-rower, who began his rugby league career in the south of England with Oxford Cavaliers.
"I just don't think I developed as a player over the past two seasons, but I believe I will now.
"I'll be working under one of the top British coaches in the game in Jon Sharp and one of best front-rowers in our competition in Paul Anderson, who retired with St Helens on Saturday to became an assistant here.
"On top of that, I'll be teaming up again with my old England mate Eorl Crabtree and one of the best pack leaders from the Australian NRL in John Skandalis.
"If I can't improve with them around, when can I improve?
"So I do see this move as a great opportunity to finally fulfil my potential and show everyone exactly what I can do. I left Wakefield feeling very frustrated, but I can now put all that behind me.
"Signing a three-year contract means I've got the chance to really establish myself at the Giants, which is very important.
"I really am excited about joing a club with this much potential. It has everthing going for it on all fronts."
